Hi - I have started an aviary this year. I have recently had a couple of unexpected deaths and the most recent one has been quite upsetting. I found the canary on the floor of the indoor aviary this morning- I thought he was dead but he was just about breathing so I put him in a box in the airing cupboard just to make him comfortable until he passed. I got back from work expecting to bury him and he’s still lying there, lifeless but breathing. He had some diarrhoea so may be gut related but if anyone’s got any similar experience I’d be grateful to hear. Thanks

I would get him to a vet to be put to sleep rather than let him suffer.

Agreed - will take him first thing in the morning if it’s needed!
