Can dogs....

    ...catch infections particularly respiratory infections from pet rats? I already asked a vet this and she said no they can't but I'm not convinced as I've recently changed vets as I don't trust the vets I was originally with. So I thought I'd ask on here?

    No dogs can't :)
    The only thing they could catch is ringworm.

    No in all the years of keeping rats I've never come across dogs catching RI.

    Just be careful of them licking any rat wee wee spots incase of the nasty lepto disease. But I think that's mainly in wild rats if I'm correct.

    I had ringworm a month ago two of my rats got it but my shepherd never caught it thankfully. Anyway it's all cleared now.
