I'm sure there’s one on here that people keep recommending, but it’s too common a search term to search properly.

I really want something that will keep its shape and has washable covers. Maybe rectangular?

    Thank you!

This is probably not the one you mean... but my two LOVE it, they have two, one in grey linen and one in pink linen, they use both every day! My friend also has one and her cat loves it! It’s machine washable, although I have yet to wash it! They have maintained their shape perfectly through regular use.

I'll second Lazy Days beds. They are really well made and long lasting as well as loved by cats.

Lazy Days here as well. I've bought loads of beds over the years but they are the only ones that have been instantly taken to. Denise is great and there are so many colours and designs to choose from!

Our tonks will pretty much sleep in anything you give them!

However, the last days beds (that have already been mentioned) are definitely favourites. We have a couple of doughnut ones, and also some fleecy blankets that can turn any surface into a cat bed.

They also like the tigga towers beds, cat chairs and pretty much anything with a fleecy texture!

I think use of beds is in part placement and as @Psygon said texture.
My guys use beds on the ground and up high but the softer the better. I also use small soft blankets on the windowsill and such.

Right now, Jack is snoozing by me on the fleecy blanket we have on the bed and Biggles is in the new cozy, soft cat bed, on the chest of drawers in the bedroom. Both my guys like the new bed, I think it might be a dog brand, Tramps.

But if I was in the UK, I would try LazyDays:cool:

Misty has several different places where she chooses to sleep, not all of them actually cat beds. She uses them in rotation.
Her favourite is an oval woollen pad bed in the window.
She also likes to sleep on top of her carrier which is kept on top of a wardrobe. She loves being high.
She's got a doughnut on my scooter, and a small dog bed in the wardrobe.
Apart from those she likes to curl up on a storage cube, and takes over my recliner when she gets the chance. She also loves a folded fleecy blanket to knead.
Oh, and in the underbed storage is her 'safe house'.

Lola has various places she likes to sleep and goes through them in phases.... her constant favourite is her cardboard bed (the cheap one from Zooplus). Other favourites are my bed, the sofa, she likes the outside sofa when the cushions are on it, the shed roof (which may be because it's a sun trap) and of course the run in front of the fire. I tried to put a fleece blanket in front of the fire to make it more comfortable but she actively avoided it!

Andre... well he doesn't really sleep (lol!)

Thank you for all the suggestions!! I think it was the lazy days beds that I was trying to remember.

She definitely sleeps everywhere and on each bed in turn in rotation, but each night she settles on the floor to sleep. At the moment she’s on a folded blanket, and to be fair that does work, but it looks a little messy and it’s a pain to hoover round and under. (Sometimes she just lies flat out on the floor wherever she lands upstairs!). I had the idea that a bed might look less like I’d dropped something and be easier to move about when cleaning. Also I think she’s less likely to be stood on accidentally (black cats at night time can be difficult to see!).
