Neighbours have one. I like them, you do need other means of transport of you are staying on a site for a while though. I've seen all sorts of vehicles being towed behind them. Bicycles on the back as well.

My friend sold his 8 years ago for £300 - would now probably be worth 10 times that (at least!) He is not a happy bunny! Keeps looking for another one but cant afford one at the prices they are fetching nowadays :(

Its amazing how little they were worth a few years back and your right its very hard to find one in a decent condition that's at an affordable price! we were very lucky ours came up for sale at the right time.

My family had one for 15 years, I loved the split screen one we had, me and my sister used to sleep in the push up roof which had a bed either side, we had so much fun in that camper van. Dad fumes now and wishes he still had his, one like my dad's went for over £20,000 on ebay, not what the winning bid was though.

Verrrrryyyyy slowly I presume. dont think one could go over the square bumps they put up in streets nowdays, we had two spilt screens and then had a bay window one with roof beds.

Buying a campervan is our main aim for retirement, or earlier if we ever win the lottery! Its our 30th wedding anniversary later this year and we were going to hire a campervan for a couple of weeks so we could try one out and have a holiday with our dog, but the cost of this would have been around a Thousand pounds. We've decided we'd rather use that money to add another dog to our family, and take both dogs away in my Mum's folding camper instead! But one day . . . one day! :001_smile:
