    Helllllooooo

Well i have my eye on a pair of gerbils!

I know abit about gerbils but not a great deal!!

    I have ther tank/cage thing

and i just want to know

Are they good in pairs ?
What is the likely hood that they will fight and have to be seperated??
I dont want to have seperated gerbils that would be silly and annoying!!

And any other information would be GREAT !!!

    :) :)

    xx

You're asking for help and you've only had the post up for half hour? be patient grasshopper!

I think they are good in pairs, when i was going to get some i was going to get a trio :) can't help much more than that though!

    Peace

  5. Ive had gerbils before and they are best kept in pairs. Ive never had a problem with fighting but ive only kept same sex gerbils. Ive always bought two or more at the same time from the same litter but introducing older unrelated gerbils there could be fights and not a great idea to do

Never keep gerbils on their own. They are highly socialable creatures who need others of their kind for company.

Males are best kept in pairs, trios or in small groups but don't keep more than 3 females together due to the risk of de-clanning :)

De-clanning is when gerbils fight and "divide" and no longer are a group, or a clan. So if two gerbils were to become friends then I guess you'd call it "Clanning".
