calling all you computer experts

    Could any computer experts or anyone who has had the same problem help please when i turn on my computer all i get is a blank screen only showing the cursor, i dont know whats happened or how to solve it, it seems like the windows vista has just disapeared. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please.

    Could be a hardward issue. I had a monitor that went caput. The backlight failed.

    Have you a space monitor to try? Just incase its this. Is your tower maing funny noises?

    I am assuming you have a desktop here, and not a laptop :)

    Its a lap top and it was making a louder noise a couple of days before this happened, if i download he hardware assuming this will be the windows(sorry but ime not really up on this sort of thing) will i then put the disc into my laptop a re-install?

    Hardware is the physical components. Could be a loose something.

    I know nothing about laptops. Is it insured?

    does sound like a harddrive issue..think you will have to re-install vista as see what happens and its seems to have dropped the software..

    Try pressing F5 immediately after switching the power on - it might wake it up. It worked a couple of times for me but no promises!

    Its not insured but it is only 4 months old so hope it is covered with the manufacturers warrenty. thanks very much for your help

    If it's only 4 months old it will be covered by manufacturers warranty. ;) :D
