i have a 6 foot corn snake and he has 2 rat pups a week one on a monday and one on a thursday.
one mouse a week sounds about right for a 3 footer.

yes that's about right... many people reccommend a mouse every 4 days but it's just power feeding... dont leave your viv next to a heater.

    Has it bitten you yet?

    Hello,

Just saw your question and thought I'd pitch in!! By now your snake will be getting on well and growing. Corns are usually super easy to care for and ready feeders. I fed all mine in the shop yesterday and not one failed to eat! I feed the small corns once a week, so you're doing fine. General rule of thumb is that the snake can manage to eat a food item equal to one and half times it's body girth. As for frequency? All species eat frequently i.e. weekly when young and they do seem to like a set pattern - odd though it seems. Don't panic, you may find your animal likes two smaller mice rather than one large mouse, it's just a matter of trial and error. Corns are great feeders so you really can't screw up! :)

Yeah they're all doing well, the only time they dont eat is when they're shedding but thats normal. We got a king snake who's on one rat a week because he's bigger and thats what his previous owner fed him. Jeff our corn is on two mice a week (he's grown lots since we got him he's almost five ft, the previous owner told us he was 3 foot but he as bigger than that) and our smallest is about a foot and eats and sheds well.

One appropriately sized food item a week. No thicker than the thickest part of the snakes body . :D

you can feed them up to twice the girth but the recommended size is 1.5 times the thickest part of the body, boids, boas and pythons can go much bigger than that. medium rats should be fine for a 4-6 foot corn, king etc

Sir you don't have a corn snake at 6 feet! You have a Rat snake. but Yes I think 1 mouse per week is good. Every few weeks give him 2 or 3. Mix it up a little. He doesn't stop by mousedonalds once a week in the wild! Sometime he stops 3 times!:D
