    Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone could help me please, I am going to meet my new little pup on Saturday- a Black and Tan Miniature Dachshund, however from the pictures I have received from the breeder she just looks black and hasn’t got any visible tan patches. Is this normal as she is only 2 weeks old and something that will develop? I have read that puppies have a fur that they shed which has adult fur underneath it? Is this the case or does this means that perhaps there is an issue?

Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated!

    Thanks in advance :)

It's impossible for a purebred dachshund to be all black. Make sure you see her mum and littermates.
The lighter colour is seen on the muzzle, legs , belly and bum.
My avatar is a miniature wirehaired dachshund , she is a dark brindle with cream .
If you have any questions about your pup the breeder should be able to answer them.
Make sure you ask about health testing , particularly PRA ( eyes) and IVDD ( spinal vertebrae)

What coat variety is the puppy?
