    Hello all

I just took my stray to the vets to be neutered and checked for microchip.

Great news, Buster was not chipped, so I got him done.

He's been our "stray" for nearly 7 months appx, he obviously sees our home as his and he's such a gorgeous temperament.

So now he's mine! I'm so pleased!

    Here's a picture of him:

Ok - maybe I am thick - it is Monday afternoon after all :D - but you only now took Buster to the vet to see whether he was microchipped after you have had him for nearly 7 months as your friendly stray?

    Am I misreading your post?

No, you aren't misreading it. It's taken me 7 months to get him to the vets, mainly because I wanted to get him completely at ease before bundling him into a box and traumatising him with a visit. For the first few months he would only come into my house if we kept the door open so he was free to bolt.

Sorry if I didn't take him quick enough for your liking, but there were no lost flyers in the neighborhood, I didn't see him reported on the missing pets website and I was making sure he was thoroughly comfortable with our house and us, before I threw him into that experience.

Thanks to the other kind comments, he's settled very well, and I think he's a very happy cat!

I do understand where Hobbs2004 is coming from and yourself for wanting him to get to trust you, which is great and you obviously kept an eye out for any 'missing cat' ads, but did you post stuff up about a found cat around a large area? Not saying you didnt, but cats have been known to travel long distances, not saying you've done bad cos you've spent so long gaining his trust, just wanna make sure his original owner has been traced as much as possible from your side and thier side and obv if they are a bad owner then he's better with you, but still....i know how i'd feel if someone took our cat in and didnt try and spread news about a found cat
