Mated my girl will be 23 days since first tie and tonight she's had some dark brown discharge from where she's been lying. There is no bad smell just that metallic smell.. she seems fine in herself. This is our 2nd mating and I can't remember if she had this first time round.

That looks like old blood and the metallic smell sounds like it is too. It could be something or nothing, has she an appointment for a pregnancy confirmation scan at 28 days ?
I would get her checked out by a vet , any offensive odour , fresh bleeding , change in behaviour , excess drinking , urination get her to the vet urgently. There's a possibility it coiuld be a uterine infection ( pyometra ) which, if it develops is potentially life threatening.

    Anal glands perhaps?

One of my old dogs used to empty brown crud that smelt metallic.

Luckily the anti bios cleared this up and now it's just a normal clear colour.
