How long does it take your dogs to stop breathing hard after exercise?
Has it got longer as they get older?
Alfie seems to be taking quite a while to have settled breathing, he is 8 and wasn't well a couple of weeks ago, also exercise has been limited for nearly 9 months.
    He seems fine while out

I've definitely noticed a difference between Candy and Sky. Candy is 12 now and Sky is 8 months.

I couldn't give you exact time though x

It would probs depend on fitness leval and external temp as he may be puffing to get rid of excess heat.

Oscar starts panting really easily. He starts before ive even put his harness on, and takes about 10-20 mins to really settle into the normal resp rate when hes back home. Longer when its hot.

Alfie stops panting usually within a couple of mins of exerting himself. Sometimes he stops on the walk home from the fields. When its hot, he pants constantly.

I just don't remember him doing this before he hurt his leg :(
    Maybe it's partly pain related

Could be. Could be loss of fitness and old age.

Have you had his heart checked recently? Does he cough at all? Drink and pee more than usual?

He had a good going over a couple of weeks ago, if it doesn't improve with this cooler weather we will be off to the vets again soon :(

I wouldnt worry too much....Ino "easier said"!
It could be a combination of a few things but as long as the colour of his gums are a nice healthy pink colour and he is still able to take a bikki or 3 am sure he will be ok :)
My boy hates the warmer weather and is constantly panting from spring till autumn!
And ur vet is close by so if in any doubt....
Is he still on anti inlams? if so and he has done more perhaps ck with vet to see if it would be an idea to increase for a day or 2 incase he becomes a bit stiff tommorow?
    Hope ur all ok x

Did go but not for his breathing, she was a little concerned that his general condition had deteriorated last time we were there, so she wanted me to go in and weigh him. Pleased to say, he hasn't lost weight.
He seems ok in himself, so will leave for a little while and just monitor him. As you said, it could just be a combination of issues that will get better. His general breathing is normal so I'm not stressing
