Jess is 5 years old and we always thought she was a girl. However I think she might be a boy. I took a picture! Please help...my wife thinks she is a girl and the balls are just because she is in week.

    Please help, Jacob

Pretty sure that is a boy. Girl cats don't have balls (unless my long haired Norwegian Forest Cats are hiding something)!

At least Jessie is a boys' name too.:)

I mean - she thinks the things I think are balls - are just swollen girl bits. To clarify!

Please get your cat neutered ASAP. Regardless of if it's a girl or a boy it's best for him or her.

Yes will do, she’s not spraying that much no. And we used to have a male cat that used to try and mate her so I’m really confused.

I used to have two neutered boys, and one would mount the other so that's not completely unusual behaviour. :)

It's good he's not spraying much, but do make sure to get him neutered as he will probably be mating with females if he's an outdoor cat, potentially creating unwanted litters (though the owners of the girls have an equal responsibility to spay their pets). Neutered males tend to be calmer, are less likely to roam far and are less likely to spray.

Thanks for your assistance on this one. I’ll never be able to see her as a boy cat after 5 years.

With pom-poms the size of your cat's there can be no doubt whatsoever the cat is a male!

A un-spayed 5 yr old female allowed outdoors could have had about 10 litters of kittens by now. :(

Just keep looking at 'her' rear end and I'm sure it will sink in eventually.

I'm surprised your vet has never said that she is in fact a he, vet should have noticed the pom-poms surely? How is Jess recorded on vet records?

Maybe this cat has almost never been to the vets?

That is 110% a male cat:Hilarious those b*lls are the biggest I’ve seen on a male cat.

Probably because most of the ones you've seen are neutered.
