Nova’s booster vaccinations are due on April 1st and I will delay it as all non essential services are shutting down in 48 hours in New Zealand and it’s not an emergency.

Kenzie’s are due at the beginning of April. As she has some health issues I need to discuss with the vet I will probably still take her soon - my vets have said they’re open for business as usual. She needs her old dog bloods and she was supposed to have another X-ray of her heart at the end of last year which never happened, and I don’t really want to delay any of that.

@kimthecat you’ve got 3 months after the due date until the vaccinations ‘expire’ so I don’t imagine it would be a problem for puppy socialisation.

I think boosters need to be done within of month of the date, other wise you need to start the vaccinations back to the start again, (if that makes sense).

Hmm just seen my vet says they’re open for ‘essential’ work. I wonder what’s classified as essential.

    sorry for the thread hijack!

    I should
    check with my vet.

No need to apologise , it comes under the same subject.

Libby is booked in for teeth cleaning on April 8th . I assume they will ring us if they decide to cancel. Its not dead urgent but it needs to be done.

You have 3 months. At the same time there might be more of a clamp down by then so maybe get due ones done. If you dont I would not worry about meet ups with sister's pup. Your dog is well covered. Should you be meeting your sister though!

    Thanks.
Its my partners sisters pup. She is working today but her grown up children are at home but they dont have a car so OH took them . We got my old dogs buggy out of the shed so they can use it if necessary. If they walk to the nearest park I think it will be too long a walk for him at his age.

ETA vets say wait in car and the vet will come out. One person per pet in the surgery .

We got an appointment tomorrow for her booster shots. Just as well because they will only handle emergencies from Thursday and urgent meds or special food.

My vets have cancelled all booster vaccinations of cats and dogs for the time being. Puppies, kittens, and rabbits are still okay. They're talking about doing a vaccination amnesty in the future re. if you need to start again and payments depending on how long this goes on for, but that doesn't exactly help for the interim time. It's not going to be fun if there ends up with a dog epidemic on the back of this.

Carla's parvo vaccine was booked for this Saturday. Had a call from the vet yesterday (Monday) and was expecting it to be cancelled. Instead, they wanted to reschedule for Friday but at their different surgery which was no problem for me.

Let's see if this appointment sticks in light of the evening's announcement (though we all knew it was coming well before it was made official).

We got Novas annual health check and booster shots done today. From tomorrow they will only do emergency services and vaccines for kittens and puppies only.

Carla's appointment for parvo was cancelled last night. Not a big surprise.

Will reschedule when we're back to some kind of normality.

I wonder if they'll be back on by June...I was actually looking forward to taking Danny this year, to see how much weight he's lost...but I don't think our vets waiting room is even 2 metres long.

My vet rang me today to say they had to cancel my litter’s first injections in two weeks.

When I booked in a few weeks ago they said it’s ok as first are essential but today changed.
