gargling with salt water is supposed to help with a sore throat

either that or my mom was trying to kill me when I was younger.

That works really well! I'm really prone to sore throats, but if I gargle salt water then it isn't so bad. Tastes like hell, but works wonders. Honey and lemon/blackcurrant is great too, very soothing.

Can I join you in the whinging? I haven't been able to hear in one ear for other a week now, and the antibiotics they gave me didn't fix it. Being ill is horrible!

When I got older, I ditched the salt water for liquor...

It doesn't really cure the sore throat...but, hey..if ya drink enough..you don't mind it anymore.

Don't know if you have ColdFX over there, but it's awesome. Echinacea works well too. Lots of VitC! And garlic too, the good thing about that is that it's a natural antibacterial and if your breath gets bad then people will stay away from you and not catch your illness. And the salt water trick is a good one.

Chest infections are running rampant here right now. I feel like putting a surgical mask on hearing some people hacking away.

    Feel better soon!

    Ahhhhh hugs to you.

And it always happens when you've got lots to do because it's your body's way of telling you to slow down I'm afraid :(
