Dougie went for scans at the vet school this morning since his limp wasn't improving.
Waiting for biopsy results but initial diagnosis is bone cancer.
He's only 4.5yrs old. And so full of life.
I haven't stopped crying. I know what it means, I just don't know how long he'll have. To remove the tumour they would have to amputate the right front leg.
We just can't agree to it. If he were a smaller dog, maybe. So we're going to see what the oncologist has to say about his chances with radiotherapy and pain relief.
    I am completely devastated.
It's a year next week that we lost Baillie and we've only had Dougie for 8 months.

    So very sorry.

I don't really know what else to say.

    Thinking of you and Dougie.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this :(

I'm afraid that I know nothing about bone cancer in dogs so can't offer any kind of advice or information, but I just wanted to send you lots of love from us. I hope that you get some good news and viable options from the oncologist. Xxx

We picked him up but the results aren't back from the lab yet.
So it will be tomorrow or Wednesday when we talk to the oncologist.
We got more pain meds from the orthopaedic surgeon. Walking better right now. He's got a few shaved areas but seems bright enough.
Thank you all for your kind words. We do love the wee madman.

    So so sorry.
I’ll keep everything firmly crossed for a bit of positive news from the oncologist.
    Thinking of you both.

Just got his discharge instructions (email).
He's now on Amantadine, Gabapentin, Loxicom and Tramadol. Wow.
Going to need to get more Tramadol from our vet as he only has a couple left.
No wonder he's walking better, he's drugged to the eyeballs!

So sorry to hear this. I had one with bone cancer, I did not even consider treating I am afraid and she had a happy 3 months then an acute overnight episode so was put down the next morning. Someone else on here had one with it and I would imagine did the same as me. Very very sad with a younger dog like yours.

Oh no, poor chap. Sorry you’ve had such rotten news. I hope Dougie is comfortable and I’m sure you’re getting as many cuddles as you can.
