couple of weeks ago i adopted 8 rats from a lovely lady near me, all 2/2.5 years. It seems that the first one is about to pass on, a gorgeous russian blue girl. She has a huge tumour under her front leg and overnight the weight has just dropped off her. She looks to be half the rat she was yesterday. She's usually the most active of the old'uns but atm she's just sitting on me with a piece of bread, barely eatingwhich is so unlike her.

I guess I realised that they'd die pretty soon after I got them what with them being so old, it's still sad though. I've grown really attached to her :

    Peace

Have you got any pasta? mine love that and being carbs it is full of energy, might just pick her up a bit?? Or do you think she is too far gone?

I know someone who thought their hamster was dying of old age and was advised to give it a drop of brandy!! she did and he lived another 6 months!!!  LOL Good stuff i reckon!

Well at least if you do lose your rat you can feel happy you made the final days special! ;)

she is old, I entirely expected it. Just a shame that the one I'm most attached to is dying first :(

Well the pasta seems to have done her good and she's perked up a bit and gone to sleep in her cage. Gonna keep feeding her and see how she does, she'll be sharing my soup tonight to get her energy right up I hope.

    Thankyou all for your support.

    Peace

Well this is an odd turn of events...

Bluie is still holding on, just a bit lethargic at the moiment. Instead, one of the others who was in pretty good health has passed away :(

    RIP Little Star.

    Peace
