I have two year old male mini lop rabbit. He has a weepy eye that requires constant attention. He has had his tear duct flushed by an experienced ophthalmic vet every few weeks for the last year. Unfortunately the vet has retired and his staff aren't able to do such a good job. Can anyone recommended a vet who can assist? We live in oxfordshire. Thanks.

Have you checked out the vet lists on RWAF and on Frances Harcourt-Brown's websites?

Has your bun had head x-rays to see if there's any obvious cause of the tear duct issues? Unfortunately Mini Lops (and Netherland Dwarves) have similar head issues as dogs and cats with flat faces like Pugs and Persians, there's a lot crammed into a stunted little skull. They're far more prone to respiratory, dental and ear issues.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, he's had his teeth checked. He was under the care of a really competent vet who was able to flush his tear duct. Unfortunately the vet has now retired and the other vets at the practice are unable to perform the procedure with any level of success. I'm just looking for a tried and trusted vet who can perform a flush ( without a general anasthetic )
