    Hi,

I occasionally put a dish of bird charcoal in my cockatiel cage as a digestion aid, and they absolutely love it.
However I have just come across an article that advises against the use of grit of any kind with cockatiels and that includes sand paper as a cage liner.
    What are your views/advise?

I'm not too sure, but as far as I know your not supposed to use grit for a parrot type bird. We had a senegal, and we didn't use it for her either. I'm sure some one with moreexperience will be able to help you soon :)
