I saw this and really wasnt sure, if it is a domestic cat it's a mega huge one.

It waddles a bit like a dog though? If it is a big cat, it's not a graceful one :)

I think it is a dog as it doesn't walk like a big cat would :)

I think it looks more cat like than dog - it seems to walk along the track.
But I can't work out how big it is.
It looks like a moggie but against the tracks it seems to big.

Just looks like a Moggy to me! And what is up with his breathing...creepy. I wonder if it's fear or he's knackered from running!

All in all pretty disappointing for a 'big cat' claim

There is supposed to be one up my neck of the woods, reports are in the local rag very week saying someone else has spotted it (I'm in Staffs) but then again were supposed to have Bigfoot and a warewolf too, thats the gospel truth I'll try and find news links.

Thanks for that lovely image

If big cats are out in the wild why are they so hard to photograph/film the UK isn't that big.

    Heres some links

To the supposed Bigfoot Bigfoot sighting on Cannock Chase - Sunday Mercury

To the big cat Further sightings of Cannock Chase Panther - Sunday Mercury

And wolves or warewolves Lair of the Beasts: Wolves vs. Werewolves - Mania.com

I don't live too far away from the beauty spots mentioned just a stonesthrow really, I've never seen anything over there but I wouldn't purposely go there late at night to take the dogs out if you know what I mean  There are also regular reports of UFO's spotted too, again never seen anything over there but did see something creepy as a youngster living in a different part of the midlands.

    Thanks for the links Nicci.
Interesting reading - if a bit far fetched in places.

I always wonder when people swear they've seen something really unusual. After all how many times has anyone been driving/walking and think they see one thing but take a second look and it turns out to be a strange shaped tree or rubbish bag caught in the bushes etc

There have been big cat sightings around here too. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if there was or if that was.
Remeber wolves and everything used to live here, before we wiped 'em out :(

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if wolves were roaming around on the Chase, only a few years back it was discovered we had wild parrots living there too. I'll try and find the link to that too, anything is possible as it's such a big area of countryside.

This just looks like an enormous moggy to me. Much bigger than the average, but there was a tom hanging round my garden recently who was about that large. He was huge, the biggest cat I've ever seen.

might be a bit of a daft suggestion cos im not really a 'cat person' so don't know much about sizes/behaviours of cats.... but it couldn't be a black or dark coloured Maine Coon could it? They are quite big domestic cats, so perhaps someone with little knowledge of cats could be mistaken? It looks to be quite a 'fluffy' cat - it's tail looks really bushy so that's what made me think it was perhaps a Maine Coon.
