Apart from meds and whisky, what can I do to relieve the symptoms of a cold?
if you;re stuffy try steaming, hot blackcurrant is always good as well...
drink plenty of water, preferably lukewarm. stay warm.
They say high dose vitamin C is supposed to shorten the duration.
Personally I find whining and moaning very therapeutic!!
Combination of Vitamin C and Zinc
Beechams Powders (not tablets - it's got to be the powders)
Plenty of water
I've got a horrid cold, cough and Laryngitis - so I sympathies.
You can't get rid of a cold it has to run it's course but you can relieve the symptoms.
My doctor when i lived in Norway always told me to eat fisherman's friends when i had a cold...It's still my go to of choice when i get a cold!
Suck on a" Fishermans Friend" :scared: wont the fisherman get jealous.
Double dose of Vitamin C is what my hubby does everytime and the cold dont last for as long then, vick inhalour for blocked noses, (your nose isnt blocked as such, it is the veins in your nostrils that as swollen that make you think you got a blocked nose). Keep warm and drink plenty of fluids. I love barley water as it is quenching. Night Nurse is brilliant too.
Probably..but atleast a fishermans friend won't stick of fish like a fisherman would!
