Hello, I recently adopted a cat from an animal sanctuary. It seems my social media and other internet feeds are just completely filled with adverts for cat related products especially cat food now!
I've become aware of all the "boutique" cat food brands along with plenty of comments about how the big brands have ridiculously low meat contents etc.
When I lived with my parents we had a cat who lived to 14 years old on a diet mainly of standard Felix pouches and go cat dry munchies. My current cat seems to like Felix Doubly Delicious food and obviously the important thing is that he is eating well and going to the toilet normally etc. however I would like to move him onto higher quality food if possible as I want what is best for him.
I know that a lot of these brands are subscription based and they get delivered to your door however I am leaning more towards wanting to stick to shop bought food rather than have to rely on dodgy delivery companies especially when I'm out at work all day.
So can anyone recommend the best wet cat foods that can be bought in supermarkets/Jolleys/Pets at home? My cat seems to prefer food in jelly or gravy and he doesn't seem as fussed on pate style food.
I'm also looking for recommendations along the same lines for dry food to "sprinkle" on top as the vet says it would be a good idea for his teeth as he has some inflamation around his gums.
On another note the vet had a very good look in his ears and couldn't see anything wrong however my cat seems to have one very itchy ear and every now and again he seems to be irritated it by it, I'm not sure if anyone has any advice?
