I am going to post all the names that were submitted in groups of the letters they start with and then put them all into one poll and we can all vote on the best name overall on PF!!

So here are the 'A' names!

Obviously I voted for Ariostea :D
I passed by the original Ariostea last Wednesday (Piazza Ariostea, in Ferrara- Italy) and my only thought is how much I missed my Ari!

PS: I'm surprised that TWO other people voted for Ariostea! I just hope it doesn't become a name trend :D :D :D

I think it's a shame to ask people to vote for their favourite PF cat names - it's unavoidable that you'd associate the name with the cat and some people might get offended. A name's a personal thing and everyone thinks their cat's name is the best - why does there have to be a 'winner'? I thought you were just asking for our cats' names out of curiosity!

Oh I doubt if anyone will get offended.

I just think they would be chuffed if their cats name gets a vote :)

Maybe offended is the wrong word - I just think it's a bit weird to be voting for a 'best' name. It seems like a lot of people are enjoying it though so maybe it's just me!

I didn't know it would turn into a poll either but have to say I'm loving seeing all these wonderful names :) I, personally, am not associating the cats with the names. I'm simply picking my favourite, as it says. I understand what you mean- names are a very personal thing- but I can't see any offence being caused, as we all love eachother's cats for different reasons :D

Well nobody is making you take part! It's just a bit of fun and by the looks of it i'm not the only one that thinks so. Its not a personal thing at all. there's no big prize or title at the end of it. we're not voting on the best cat! i seem to remember you being a bit pissy that your cats name didn't make it on the most unique name cat poll. hmm I wonder if that has anything to do with your little protest against a little bit of fun!

Exactly! Your pets name is only personal to you! My yorkie is called Millie and I know of at least 20 other Millie's (not all on this site!) but i dont take it personally that someone else has called their pet that. It's just a name that everyone is more than welcome to use. Millie is a name that I like but MY millie is what's personal to me. I dont know other cats 'personally' on here so when i choose a name that i prefer its not that i like that cat better than everyone elses, its not saying that all the other cats are not worth voting for. it has nothing to do with their personality or how they looks its just a name. To quote Juliette - 'whats in a name, that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, so romeo would were he not romeo called, retain that dear perfection which he owes without that title'
