Memories of a very special person, I split with him as I knew he would go home to Iran as soon as he finished at college. The one that got away, I often wonder what happened to him.

I'll give you Michel Jackson had a few and the awesome Queen of course, but they started their careers long before the 80s, in a time of proper music :001_tt2:

They may have started their careers long before the 80's....but their best music was produced in the 80's.
I honestly don't think any other decade gave us such awesome music!

The first Gary fan I have met on here (dont like his new stuff!) :thumbup1:

    Human League
    Toyah
    Depeche Mode
    Flock of Seagulls
    Pet Shop Boys
    Erasure
    And many more!!

    I love the electro influences!

You should check out tenek, Mesh, De/Vision, Iris - just a few of the bands I LOVE, that take their influences from the electro 80s music :D

in the late 80s there was some really amazing groundbreaking music
here is such a tune from the early days of acid house.. it still sounds beautiful to this day.
    [youtube_browser]tLxDRePUwEY&feature=related[/youtube_browser]

NWAs seminal straight outta compton album was released in '88 too, and pretty much spawned the gangtsa rap genre upon release. real OGs.
    [youtube_browser]TMZi25Pq3T8&ob=av2e[/youtube_browser]

Cant mention the 80s without mentioning Public Enemy
    [youtube_browser]q0b0jIaCEHU&feature=related[/youtube_browser]

these two should need no introduction...

    [youtube_browser]4B_UYYPb-Gk[/youtube_browser]

I'll second INXS too, that kick album got some serious playtime back in the days.:thumbup1:

when people say there was no good music in the 80s they are dead wrong, but pop music was, then as now, pretty damn terrible for the most part.:frown2:
