Sunday afternoon she ate grass and vomited once. But was otherwise fine apart from the bumps on her skin.
Monday morning she vomited again once...and that was the last of that.
Good appetite, good poos and has been fine.

But this morning, after 60 minutes into our walk she just stopped in her tracks and wanted to head home asap. She ate a few pieces of grass and then had diarrhoea...and when we got home she was panting and lip licking and kept trying to find a comfortable position - I have never seen her like this before.

We went straight to the vets and she is on cerenia and antibiotics...but she is a very unhappy girl.... still lip licking (but less) and very tired:(

For those of you who followed my previous thread about her bumps...I didn't bath her with hibisrub yet and will instead be giving local cream as I don't want to hassle her with baths now that she is unwell (vet agrees)

Thanks...so do I. I'm not used to her being miserable and subdued!

Awe poor baby, the meds usually kick in very quickly and hopefully Bella will be right as rain in no time ;)

They do worry us though and not the best way to start the New Year. Lots of love and get well wishes from all here. xxx

    Hope Bella recovers.

I have a sad Dallie here too, he has refused his breakfast not even tempted by a fish treat, and he is not following me around the house as he would normally but is just on his bed.

I'd go to a vet if you haven't already done so. The OP is in Cyprus as well, so there won't be a connection.

Thank you all for your replies:)

It is always a huge worry here in Cyprus because of people (if you can call them people) putting down meat laced with poison to kill stray cats and also pets dogs out on walks (and yes this too is intentional sometimes!. Bella may only have licked/ eaten grass...but what if laced meat had been on it previously etc etc? But at the same time, I try to balance the risks and give her a good quality of life. I have considered getting her a muzzle to eliminate the risk of her eating anything on walks...but she is generally really good, and I am constantly checking which areas have had poisoning reports and avoid them.

Anyway, Bella is feeling much much much better. She was allowed one spoon of chicken and rice which she devoured and is still hungry. But no more until tonight when she will again get a pathetically small portion.

We're gonna take it slow this afternoon and only walk about 30 minutes. Hopefully she will continue to feel better and we can slowly get back to normal.

She has a mild temperature, but vet wasn't sure f it was bug or not. I met a few people at the dog park today whose dogs have also had the squits...so I guess it's a bug!

Hopefully it is a short lived bug then.

I'm a bit nervous to see how she is tomorrow morning...as she hasn't pooed since this morning.
But she seems to be feeling fine...albeit a little more tired than normal, but at least she seems comfortable and in no pain!
