    it continues!....

sooo took miss milliard back to the vets today as she was lamer on her back leg - since using a harness - :/ im just not happy that a 3 year old dog is inconclusivly lame so we have been refereed to the university of liverpool (leahurst).... if they cant find anything then no-one will

my own vet was happy for me to go to another specialists (although i do feel bad on the first specialist that i went to and im NOT knocking them) i am just doing what i feel is best for my dog....

Sooo waiting on a phonecall within the (hopefully)! next few days from them and then off we go to leahurst!!! right in the middle of my exams  typical!!

    :scared:

has anyone been leahurst? any experiences?

    thanks :)

shes not showing mega signs of pain (thank god) but a dog does not limp for nothing imo!

like i said to the vet - i wont rest until i know whats wrong with this dog! "ok then we will refer you"

i think by now they realise they push me i snap. i snapped about out last dog when we had the argument that "just because you can keep a deaf and blind dog alive dosent mean you should".... (not our dog just was a debate).... i have an opinon and not afraid to say it about things - especially where my dogs are concerned

i feeel mega bad though about the vet i was referred to originally - what the heck do i tell him?? he has done agreat job but im just not happy....?

Just say that you want a different approach, its nothing personal, but you are following your gut instinct. And want the best for your pooch. He should understand.

I really do hope you get to the bottom of it :)

ohh i like that thank you :) it really is nothing again him or his practise its just that i really dont/cant accept a lame 3 year old - i felt happier that my vet just fully agreed and didnt have a problem with refering me again! i guess that if it looked bad on them or me she would probably have adviser me not to!

i also asked the diff between an MRI and CT scans as i thought originally she was in for an MRI but they did CT and i honestly have no idea why as i know for a fact an MRI will show up everything. (our old dog had this and shows up far more we actually wanted to know)!

    thanks for your replies :)

to me it looks as though thr stiffness is coming from her back and i dunno if its just the way she walks normally but she seems to drag her hind feet which could be due to a disc out of place or just generally a sore lower back. I dont know if dogs get it but could it be something nerve wise such as sciatic nerve or something and shes in pain?

no? just orthopedic surgeons specialist/normal vets....

shes going in thurs for her consultation - and as its ateaching hospital im sure the students will be there too - ive been with my horse and wanst happy last time as the students did a lot and completely fed me some reel of bullsh*t and told my my extremly lame horse would be fine - he wasnt he had to be pts :( so hopes build up for nothing.

so im wary about students touching her and being in so im probably thei worst nightmare about to appear on thursday
