They only had one pitch left when we rang so thought it wouldn't be much good but it was exactly what and where we wanted it

Alfie thought it good even before the tent went up :)

The dark makes it more exciting (outside the tent looking into the wood)

The tent was down, the car was packed, Muddy was loaded and someone still didn't want to go ;)

I would love to just go off camping for the day/night but with Zab it would be a nightmare!

Looks like Alfie enjoyed himself bless him :D
And handsome muds of course, I met a 17wk old Chesapeake bay retriever pup last week thought of muds straight away. She was the first one I've met other than Crufts.

Yeah, she's local and walks the canal often she said.
She also had a older male but he was abit grumpy so didn't get to say hello to him.

    Dogs and the great outdoors!

I think if we were more prepared to live outdoors with them they'd love us all the more.:001_smile:

Got to agree with that

I know most think I'm mad, but we really go camping because Alfie loves it so much.

We only go for one night because, at his age, one day and night wears him out :D

Madness or eccentricity makes for a good dog owner.

The weather here during the night plummets to +2 yet we still keep the outer door open so that both the dogs can come and go as they please.

Oscar adores the much chillier nights and deep down I know he would be thrilled to bits if we stayed out all night with him:rolleyes:

Another month or so and the first snows will arrive and their freedoms will be less privileged.

Great photo's as always. There is nothing nicer than popping on to pet forums and finding an Alfie camping thread :) He is such a sweet cheeky boy who clearly still loves life. Great to see Muddy enjoying himself to.

I'm no longer going to be under canvas as I bought a caravan on Friday  :D I hope to still get out proper camping a bit but with four dogs it should be easier in the caravan.

You should pitch your tent in garden if you have room ;)

What great photos AND how on earth could you take down the tent with his little face all happy inside

We took our Westie camping when we first got her... Nightmare! But she adores caravans! now everytime I get our BIG PINK holdall out she knows exactly where we are heading! Dougie has never experienced camping :( probably never will and HE HATES when we are towing the caravan, the noises it makes and the motion :( *have to work on it next time we're out*.

Glad you enjoy our camping threads :) We are hoping to do a few more before it gets too cold and the dog gets too old!!

I can see how it will be easier with a caravan with 4 dogs, and much more relaxing for you, but that just wouldn't be the same for Alfie I don't think :D

    Done that :D
    http://www.petforums.co.uk/dog-chat/313765-we-couldnt-go-camping.html

We know how tired he'll be when we get home, but it's still hard to drag him away when he's so obviously happy.

Hope Dougie starts to appreciate the trips more and gets over the scaredy bits :)
