Now we're in October I'm thinking that most dog restrictions on beaches will have been lifted.

Nell has never been to the beach before and I'd love to take her one weekend. Does anyone have any recommendations for good beaches for dogs in either Hampshire or Dorset?

Apologies if there's already a thread about this somewhere!

I promise to post pictures when we've been :)

Sorry not my end of the country but just wanted to say "enjoy":D

We're very lucky here and Maisie goes to the beach probably 5 days out of 7 .... and loves it

It did take ages to get her to go onto it the first few times - if they've never been on soft ground before, the sand slipping away from their feet can unnerve them a bit

I would say any beach down there sounds lovely :)

I expect the only people you are likely to meet now at this time of year are other dog walkers and fishermen

Highcliff beach is good for dogs and restrictions ended on 30 Sept so could do really long walk all the way to Mudeford :)

Thank you all for your great replies! I like the Highcliff/Mudeford idea so will look into that!

I love the beach during autumn/winter time, I just hope Nell loves it too!
