What’s the best way to bathe your dog at home? Can I take him in the shower with me? He has itchy skin, and the vet gave me a medicated shampoo for in-between grooming visits.

He’s too heavy to lift into a tub, but the shower doesn’t have a hand attachment. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Fill several buckets with water to use in the shower with a plastic jug.

I've brought my 80 pound muttdog in to the shower with me. I fill up a big cup with water and use that to rinse him off. You may want to put a guard on the drain though or you'll end up with a lot of hair going down the drain potentially plugging it.
Ideally you have a helper to catch the dog when you're done.

Make sure you have really secure footing in the shower too, if need be put a towel down for both of you to give you traction.
