I finally got rice flour to make biscuits for Charlie.

I made bannana and apple biscuits and I think they're a hit. They've turned out nice and crunchy and Charlie is begging for more...100g of flour made over 15 good sized bone-shaped biscuits

I mixed 80g Rice Flour with 1 egg and a tablespoon or so of olive oil to make the dough. Then I mashed a banana and chopped an apple and mixed that in. Then you make a dough - add a little more flour if it's not forming because it's too runny, or add a little bit of water if it's not sticking together.

    Roll out and cut.

Bake at 180 C for 30 minutes or until they bounce back under finger pressure - obviously cooking times will depend on how thick you want to make them.

Then cool on a wire rack and leave to crisp. Store in an airtight container.

I don't think theres anything in there that would upset a tummy - maybe skip the olive oil and just use water if your pooch is prone to runny business :)

I know! He gets wrinkly when he's tired, and he'd just spent a good hour staring at me whilst I was baking! :D

Well you obviously have good taste ;)

I want to eat those... -shoves through crowd of drooling dogs-

We used to make special mince pies for ours... Haven't done it for a few years, but now I feel inspired again!

He is adorable, by the way.

    No problem

From other recipes online I was worried they were going to be too cakey - and although they're not rock hard like normal dog biscuits, I'm happy with them.

They do look nice! Mine won't eat bananas! :(
I too did some baking today - Liver cake. I used salmon oil instead of olive oil. They are already chopped into squares and in the freezer, but to be honest they didn't look that impressive! However, and this is the important thing, the dogs did love the cubes I gave them to try! :D

    Thank you :D

He's almost eaten his way through the first batch, but I'm really pleased. He runs round the house with his biscuit before he eats them because theyre obviously so exciting, and it's really made a difference to me not buying him so many treats.

So I think this is going to be a regular money saver from now on.

And all that time I spent searching for treats that wouldn't upset Charlie's tum - it never occurred to me to make some!!!! :D
