    The baby killifish saga continues.

    A few days ago, I detected movement - like raindrops in water creating ripples - in the container which housed the first batch of killifish eggs. I started feeding some algae-rich water I have prepared on the kitchen windowsill for the 2nd batch.

    Tonight, I saw it clearly for the first time. And it's a baby fish. Freeswimming, too. :D

    That first batch of eggs just had to keep me guessing.

    I know what you're going to say - pics!! I'm working on it, but I don't think the camera in this tablet is strong enough.

    Here s/he is. It's ridiculously small - about 2mm in length. Hope you can see it;

    I believe there are more, even smaller than this little one. I've placed their container in the 60ltr with the heater on, and doing daily water changes ... which is ... interesting, with fish so small, lol.

    Lol, tell me about it! :rolleyes: I've called him/her Nemo because I spend more time finding it than anything else. :D

    No, s/he's not a singleton, but the others are even smaller - so small the only way to detect them is by checking for movement.

    Will do. With the obligatory pics (and maybe the odd video). :D. S/he's quite a strong swimmer, despite his/her size. Already so much power in fins too small and fine to see. :D

    Counted them this morning. I've got at least 6, I think. It's possible I counted one twice. :Wacky. Three in Nemo's container, another three in the even smaller container that houses the 2nd, younger batch.

    You need one of those macro lenses that you clip onto your phone camera :D
