Arthur, a beautiful 4-6 year old red Staffordshire Bull Terrier boy, came to us from a pound in the North of England, where he had been abandoned and was on ‘death row’ He is looking so much better, healthier and happier now he’s out of the pound and in a fantastic foster home

Arthur is an absolute sweetheart, and adores people and fuss. Arthur is excellent with other dogs when out on walks, but would prefer to be the only pet in the home. He is also great with children but he would need to live with older children, due to the only thing that is being worked on, he can be a bit toy obsessive. Therefore, if he goes to a home with children, they would need to be old enough to understand Arthur’s training. He has improved such a lot with this though and as he is such a clever lad, we know he will continue to improve. Arthur is between 4 and 6 years old. He has such caring kind eyes and the most loving way about him. We think he’s gorgeous!

If you think you would like to offer Arthur the forever home he so deserves, please contact us for an adoption application form. Please note, Arthur is now neutered.

The following is a profile written by the foster carer who is looking after Arthur…

Arthur is a very handsome and playful Staffordshire Bull

Terrier, who is around 4-6 years old. He’s is an adorable and sweet

chap, who loves nothing better than a good old belly rub!

He’s come such a long way since he’s been in foster care with us – from

not knowing any commands to learning lots of them and just generally being a

delight to have around the house. He loves his toys and initially didn’t

want to give them up to us, but with a bit of training and building up

trust, he’ll now happily hand them over to us (in return for some

    fussing of course!).

Arthur loves his walks, but is a strong boy who is very curious about

the world, so his new family would need to be willing to continue his

training to focus more on his walker (this involves a pocket full of

treats and lots of praise). He’s already made huge progress with this

and is so smart that we know he’ll be great if someone continues to

    work with him.

Arthur’s crate trained, fabulous in the car and non-destructive in the

house. He’s fine with dogs when on walks, but would definitely prefer to

be the only pet in the house, as he just loves attention!

He’s a fabulous dog, who deserves to have a permanent loving home, he’ll

be the most loyal and loving pup anyone could wish for!

Please contact Cathy at Once Loved Dog Rescue for an adoption application form.

    Email cathy@oncelovedrescue.org.uk

Please note, all prospective homes will be required to have a pre homing check and post home checks. We do not rehome any dogs to homes with children under the age of eight years old.
