Life thrives in ocean canyon : Nature News

for a long time, the assumption has been that deep-ocean is largely empty of life - but some canyons are amazingly
productive and busy with living creatures; this has huge implications for human activities (like trawling, active-sonar,
    and other disturbances).

    i find this fascinating + hopeful -
a deep-sea canyon rich with species, but WITHOUT a sea-vent to provide an alternate energy-source, is incredible.
    great news!
