    Hi there

Is any one any good at writing pedigrees out as i am rubbish lol

Have looked at programs on the web but too expensive as i only have 2 girls it would be different if i had 10 girls then the price of this program wouldnt seem too bad but at 100.00 no way ie breeders assistant or has any 1 got something similar where i can had all the details to on my computer then print them out.

    Any help greatfully received. :):)

How's your handwriting? I really enjoyed caligraphy once upon a time, which I've never really used! LOL! You can buy blank pedigree documents and they just fill them in by hand. It's quite old school but I think it gives a nice personal touch. ;) xx

Some people use MS Excel (spreadsheet application), you'd need a template though, but perhaps someone on here could help?

I use Breeders Assistant and have done for the last 7 years or so, it's brilliant. I don't need it just for printing pedigrees, the other things it can do are very useful too, especially calculating the degree of inbreeding of a cat or a potential litter.

There is also Pedigree Assistant, which is a "lite" version of BA - I'm not sure what else it can do, but I'm sure it can print pedigrees.

You can download trial versions from Pedigree Software - Breeders Assistant

BTW I have printed pedigrees for other breeders via BA :)

Have yo ever managed to save them in a usable format outside of BA? I've got all Alan's info now into my copy of BA, but I can't seem to find a way to save it outside of the system, so am going t have t printand send via snail mail if I can't work it out. I imagine that you probably can't due the programing.

You have to use the "printed by" pedigree template :)

hmm, I think I should be asking for commission giving away secrets like that!!
