    Hey there,

Me and my bf have just got ourselves a northern inuit after falling in love with the breed. Cael is beautiful and so soft, and his resemblence to a wolf is uncanny, people always stop us when on our walk and ask if he is indeed a wolf, they're quite shocked to discover tht actually no he isn't.

Any other wolf lovers out there??

Thanks guys yeah ur right he's beautiful!!! Love him to peices. They are gorgeous dogs, so placid and easy to train, but they need company, cael's lucky he has tilly, a terrier cross, to boss about ( or is tht the other way round?)

They are definatly a breed that needs more recognition, beautiful animals!

Yes they are such characters too!

Your's is soooo pretty! Cael's only 9 months atm, and he's already the size of a german shepherd!

He's nervous round new dog's tho n growls, is this a normal trait? He's fine once he gets to know them, just doesn't like em in his face to begin with.

    no, its not a trait....
Do u have him since a pup or did u rescue him? Might be that he hasnt been socialized enough with other dogs when he was younger.....

We got him from a breeder about a week ago, he was in a kennel with his half sister, by all accounts she bullied him a bit.

We met his parents, and he seemed fine round the other dogs there when she let him out.

Whats the best way to get him out of this habit?

thats probably because he knew the other dogs there.....

Growling is a warning and a sign that he is not happy with whats just happening. If he feels nervous by strange dogs approuching him or having them in his face then dont let this happen. Let him approuch the strange dog frst maybe ... (if its a on lead situation). Off lead he will most likly tell them off when he is not happy....

Yes they do get huge! Cael's dad was about 6' 6'' stood on his hind legs with the head the size of a bear.
It's a bit difficult approaching other dogs with Cael as the ignorant folks out there tend to make a bee-line outta our way! Bless him!

There is nothing more exilarating than watching a northern inuit bound toward you n roll over at your feet, it's the sheer size of them that excites, Cael has a wolfish ruff on his neck and he doesn't run he loaps like a wolf, so amazing to watch, an experience not to be missed I assure you.
