I hope some of the lovely members can help as I'm at my wits end. Basically 4 days ago my Lhasa Apso was acting slightly unsettled, at bedtime he wouldnt settle constantly standing and sniffing in air. He decided to go downstairs and I think with it being dark he has fallen. When I heard the bumping noise I jumped out of bed to find him at bottom of stairs shaking. He never made any jelping noise and i have checked his limbs and he's not in any pain. Since this he is pacing the house, constantly standing stating into space, if he does lie down 5 mins later he jumps up like hes heard something. He generally looks sad and has not been upstairs or near the stairs since. This behaviour seems worse on an evening and he isn't even going to sleep just standing all night, he is shattered. Any advice I am at my wits end , I have been lying on the floor beside him at night, downstairs. Is this anxiety and if it is any ideas on his I can overcome it??

How old is he. Could it be 'doggy dementia' though if it came on that suddenly I am not sure. I think a vet visit might be sensible.

He must have got a dreadful fright. I would discuss it with the vet if he carries on so bad he cant even lie down. He might be able to get something to help him.

Is he maybe in pain and that’s why he’s not wanting to lie down?
