You've only just missed it, poodle has sired over 400 puppies, to a variety of bitches of different breeds. How on earth can producing 400 random puppies be of benefit to dogs overall, it just adds to the over population. The bitch owner stated that she was using a poodle to get rid of the scattiness of the cocker spaniel, bl**dy work it, that will stop it from being scatty!! Baaahhhhhhh!!!

That's just what I was thinking! That just sais shes in it for the money, cuz she can charge more for the pups if crossed with a poodle!

This is whats wrong with these back yard breeders and now this programme is promoting it!

Just saw it and thought it'd be brought up on here before too long. Really awful - think she made it quite clear what her true motive was when she mentioned Cockerpoo pups will sell for more :(

And of course she trotted out the old 'hypoallergenic' reason, and admitted she could charge £900 for cross bred pups as opposed to much less than that for pure cocker spaniel pups. Hmmmm, reminds me of a recent thread in the breeding section, wonder if they were related.

    Yea, makes me mad.

There's no guarantee they will not shed like poodles.

With the so called 'breeders' believing this theres no wonder the new owners of the puppys don't know what their getting into. Then they will all end up at a rescue.

The trouble is guys, as long as there are numpties out there who are ready to fall for this bulls...t people like this will carry on with their ridiculous breeding programmes, make lots of cash and do irrepairable damage to the breeds they're fooling around with. I just don't get it,

I thought it was the One show but you're right it's Animal Crackers. I'm gobsmacked. One minute he's at a rescue centre talking about unwanted dogs and then next he's promoting this back yard breeder and the money she's made! FFS

It's maddening isn't it, all the time and effort trying to get the message across about ethical breeding, and this gets prime time showing on national television.

Maybe someone from the Inland Revenue was watching. 400 puppies is a huge amount of litters at £xxx per mating.

That party might have done something to help - what about the labradoodle that looked pure lab? Hopefully people may notice the randomness of the crosses.

What struck me was the cocker was in no way a good representative of the breed. I don't know much about poodles, but the great sire looked very non descript to me. Looked to me like people were breeding crossbreeds as the pedigrees wouldn't be of a good standard - and of course wouldn't command high prices.

Oh, but rant over. I rather liked the hat!

Just makes me appreciate Paul o Grady, ITV and the POG dogs even more

I wonder if the BBC will ever do anything on dogs that is actually accurate, fair and well balanced

    BBC - Complaints - Home

Let your fingers do the talking, I'm at work and have not seen the show, I'll watch it at the weekend and I'll write a complaint..

Lets do something and complain about it to the BBC rather than just in here ;)
