...thinking of taking a holiday there (Iceland not the volcano):

Dangerous Iceland volcano Oraefajokull may be about to erupt for first time since 1728
    http://news.sky.com/story/amp/dange...t-to-erupt-for-first-time-since-1728-11160067
That puts me off that idea.

Oh well choice now is a nice peaceful private Island retreat for 10 days in Sweden. Back to nature type holiday living basic in a cottage on the island surrounded by island wild life and no neighbours, so all by myself. My finger is hovering over the book button on airbnb for dates in May 2018. I can't find another choice to be honest to match this holiday.

You could be right. It probably would cause the sea levels to rise and have an affect on the weather thinking about it.

And you choose Sweden with all the nosy neigbours, who are constantly coming over and don´t even have saunas. Nej! You could do so much better. A hint: what is the country right next to Sweden, where there is lots nature, islands and wild life, but where people will not come to see you, as they know you want to be in peace and quiet. And go to sauna and a swim in Private. Best thing ever!

I am still considering my holidays. Not booked anything yet.

I did think about coming to Finland and still might.

I'll have a look online and see what I can find.

Will be booking something by Monday though for next year so I get the discounts and deals.

Beckhams, Messi & family and Tamara Eccleston & family thought Finnish Lappland was the best ever, so that is what I recommend. Finnish sauna and water/snow is just perfect together and you can´t get it anywhere else. Good luck finding a good offer!

So Finland has Lapland and saunas and @Zaros and @MrsZee I bet Finland is a nice place with a great culture and friendly people? I will look into a holiday there and then decide where to go, Finland or Sweden.

Although the Swedish Island does sound very tempting.
