I'm gutted. Selma had her anal glands removed in Oct 08 after ongoing problems and treatment. Last month, the site of one of the glands swelled and became painful. The vet prescribed a course of two very strong antibiotics in the hope that it was a residual stitch that had become infected. Well it's happened again and now they recommend another op to see if some of the gland duct was missed and is causing problems.

I'm so upset that my poor girl has to go through that pain again, I've never heard a dog scream like she did after that op.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? What was the outcome? Did you complain about the vet not having removed the entire gland the first time around?
