any one have one? or know much about them?
Have a friend in America who owns one. He's called Rusty and he's adorable!
Sorry can't be of any help really.
wanted to know a little about there temp...
i know nothing about them, but did google up some pics. For me there seems to be quite a variety in appearance, and a good number of the images were of dogs that could be considered "type". For that reason alone i wouldnt have one, i dont want to risk my dog being siezed by some uneducated plod with a doggy chip on his shoulder.
think they are registered with the ABBB and come with american papers... not sure what thats worth here
Don't know anything about them sorry.
But seen various pictures of them..
And as for the un-eductaed plod.
Well we've got them in every part of the country.
1st it was...Are rottweilers not on the banned list !!!!
Shouldn't she be muzzled at all times.
And then says to my mate...
What type of dog is that..he replies American Bulldog !
Thats a pittbull init !!!!
Yet they walk past a pitbull everyday, and don't batter an eye-lid.
Well obviously I can't say much about general temperament as I've only ever been in contact with one but Rusty is really friendly. I'm not entirely sure if he's still around as it's been years since I last visited my friend.
At the time she had two younger siblings, a sister who was 12 and a brother who was 8. I think Rusty was about 4. So they must have had him as a pup with very young children around. I never heard them say anything bad about him. He did very well with everyone in the family including a miniature poodle (I think. He was a tiny toy breed curly haired THING lol.)
I have heard that sometimes they have dominance issues? I don't know how true that is and whether that's a characteristic of the breed or just a known occurence.
There is someone near me selling a girl puppy at the mo and OMG! she is gorgeous. They describe them as being very cuddly, people dogs and I certainly want to cuddle her!!
I think its the same as most breeds that are prone to guarding/DA. With plenty of socialisation and training they are super pets.
never heard of them....just googled....what a lovely dog
:001_wub: don't know much else about them sorry. Very protective and intelligent apparently
Arent they very simualr to an american bulldog ? so i would imange there temp, wouldnt be too disimular.
im sure there was a breeder on here a year back...will try and find a contact for you
