My 3 dogs all compete. I also judge (KC) and am one of the volunteer trainers at my club.
Kite - Welsh Sheepdog bitch aged 9, grade 7. Usually runs at large LHO now and I'll get her measured for the new 4th height as soon as I can. She only just measured into large and she's getting on a bit now - not as fast as she once was but has still won 3 classes at G7 this year.
Flossie - Welsh Sheepdog x Border Collie, Kite's daughter, aged 4, grade 6.
Fly - Flossie's twin sister, grade 5 with 3 jumping wins at G5; needs 1 agility win to get into G6. She would have got that in June but Flossie just beat her! We got 1st and 2nd in that class. Fly and Floss are both 'large' and I'll continue to run them at 600 once the new heights come in. I'd never keep up with them otherwise. They are very fast and even with the distance handling I do, I can't always get into place in time.
All 3 are clever and have high drive at agility but are calm around the house.
Main motivation at agility is the excitement of doing it, but their usual reward is food. And letting them do it again.
My aim for the rest of this year is to get Kite's Diamond Warrant. She needs another 66 points.
I'm not sure if I want Fly to get into G6. I like the less naggy 4-5 courses, but it would make it easier in terms of having more dogs in the same class so fewer courses to walk and remember. Floss has done well after moving up to G6 recently, she's got some decent places.
