She is getting more chilled she came from a busy party place. My home is chilled and quiet and she appears to be chilling a bit. Im under no illusions this is going to take a while. But i will make this little girl happy xx
She has no existing conditions and previous vet stated she has always been aggressive and just needs time.
Hi thankyou i will do that she does need a check up xxx
Thanks for coming back to update us, I'm glad she's settling in a little more now. Strange for a Maine Coon to be hissy in nature, but there are always ones that buck the trend in any breed.
Anyhow, let us know how you get on at the vet and let us know how she continues to settle in
@Justine Farazian - she is a very pretty cat - lovely photo!
I am sure with your sympathetic, calm approach and your quiet home, it will make a huge difference to her quality of life.
Omg she has just let me stroke her for a second then swore at me but is still sat right next to me. I am so so so happy xxx will keep giving updates
She has just let me stroke her slightly im over the moon xxx gonner leave her be for a bit now dont want to push my luck. This is going to be a long process but well worth it
That's good progress! She looks lovely in the pic.
As you say, take it slowly, the 'swearing' should start to abate!
Ha ha yes it will be a long road somewhat rocky i have no doubt. But we have all the time in the world and we will win her round. Dont think the poor girl has ever played. She has been in the tunnel we bought today poking her head out. Im so happy i could cry xx
Have you been in touch with the breeder? They usually want to know where their cats are and can offer advice.
As the previous owner has allowed access to their vet records getting the breeders name shouldn’t be an issue.
The lady we got her from said she came from a home with small children so they thought maybe she had been terrorised as she was like that when they got her. I am ringing her vets today.
Wish i could put videos on here as last night she was rubbing round me and never hissed once.
I have a good feeling were going to win her round.
Sent the video to previous owner and she said she was never like that here.
So this is her 4th home in 18 months? Poor thing if you have her registration documents, you need to inform her breeder where she is, her breeder will probably be frantic with worry. I can help put you in touch, or if you don't have her information I can help you find her breeder through the Maine Coon community. There aren't too many that breed white
Hi they had no documents for her we are her 3rd home. She is a different cat from sunday very placid now. Do i need to find the breeder?
The breeder's home counts as a home, so this is her 4th. Yes, you do need to find the breeder as a courtesy. The first owners should have informed the breeder when they rehomed her, and quite possibly haven't. The breeder will want to offer you support and get updates on how she is doing
Well if you could help that would be appreciated xx
Well she has a forever home with us. We love our animals and they have the best of everything xx
Of course she does, she won't need to go anywhere but it's good manners to let the breeder know, as breeders like to monitor health and development of their lines and offspring
I totally get that xxx
