We've gone away for our Easter holidays...near Matlock in the peak district

Alfie had a lovely long walk after a 4 hour car ride but i think it all got to much for him

I don't know if you know the area, but Bakewell, Castleton and Chatsworth are all worth a visit. You can take dogs around the gardens at Chatsworth and two of the caves at Castleton are dog friendly. The tourist information is as well and has a small museum.

There's Crich tram museum as well. They can go on the trams and it has a nice walk. A few of the attractions at Matlock are dog friendly.

Cromford near Matlock is lovely. There's a beautiful walk along the canal which is not connected to a network so only has one horse-drawn boat on certain days; loads of wildlife along it, loads of historic buildings (Arkwright's first mill was there and a pump house which pumps water into the canal from the river below - also works on certain days), and a walk up to the Heights of Abraham.

Went to Sudbury hall this morning sadly alfie wasn't allowed in the grounds proper so had to take him for a run on the village football field :(

Girls enjoyed going round the house though :)

Shall take that as a compliment ;) :Cat:Cat:Cat

Really, pics do look lovely. Not an area I've been to with Mont so like looking at other's views (we like a good view) to see if it should go on our "visit in future" list.

Oooo...You need to go to Eyam if you get chance! Nice for a wander, such a sad historical town, but very pretty little village, to walk round.

    Well heading back home today....

Weather held out well for us and we did a lot of things including lots of long walks.

Alfie behaved himself well and slept in until 8 each morning.....wish he'd do that at home :(

We went to a dog friendly pub last night and though there were five other dogs in there he behaved himself and fell asleep under my chair

We will quite possibly be back next Easter as we loved the area, the things to do, and the people round here are really friendly and like to chat.....big change from London

All in all a fantastic time was had by all

Went to castleton years and years ago. I can't remember if I've made it up in my own head @Jobeth but isn't there a cave called the Devil's Arse?
It was lovely round there, stunning views.

Little Alfie looks worn out :)

You realise it takes training to make a decent pub dog? You have to put the hours in, but eventually it pays off ...

Yes, Peak Cavern is also known as Devil's Arse. We're hoping to go there on Tuesday.
