    Oh thank heavens! I'm not usually happy to be proven wrong, (being as how I am always right - just ask Mr lostbear), but I am this time.

    I must admit I wondered how they managed to keep the cats still, not to mention escape without serious, indeed life-threatening injury!

    Does that mean the tattoos are a con, too?

    I certainly hope so, but having seen what people do to dogs, and as anaesthetics become safer, and tattoos become more 'artistic' (none of these cats are just stuck with a heart with 'Mother' underneath it), there will always be some twot who thinks it's a great idea.

    Thanks for putting me right. I'm going to have a look on that 'Snopes' site - seems very interesting (course, it could be shattering all of my long-held illusions . . .) :)
