    By hurricane Florence :Shifty

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45499234

We're not on the coast, not in a mandatory evacuation zone, but it's looking like we're going to get some serious rain, winds and flooding.
Really worried for all the outdoor pets and livestock in addition to the people trying to stay safe.

Prayers, mojo, good vibes, all appreciated :)

Sending lots of calm weather vibes. Hope you all stay safe.

My in-laws were evacuated from Anna Maria Island last year when Irma hit (and when Charley hit in 2004 too) They stayed further north with friends who owned dog kennels. Even though they weren’t directly hit by the storm, and all the kennelled doggies were brought into the house until the bad weather had passed, they were all still terrified, bless them :(

Yes, this is my worry too :(

Fortunately Bates doesn't mind storms. Just hoping the winds aren't too bad, and the power outages don't last too long!

I'm going to get pummeled, too. Worried for all the people and pets in the way of hurricane Florence. I'm not going to get it full on but still pretty bad. Everyone is coming from the coast to my city to seek safety. The traffic is terrible and the stores are empty. I'm a little worried about downed trees as my neighborhood has a lot of trees and there's quite a few right next to my house.

Hope you aren’t too badly effected.

As for those in the danger zone I hope all the animals and people can take cover - so scary :(

Unfortunately, that's the biggest worry right now for inland areas. They're predicting that it will hit, and then stall out and sit over top of North and South Carolina and just dump insane amounts of rain for 2 days :(
Yep, downed trees means downed power lines, for us no power means no water (well water). The last time we went without water for weeks was a huge snowstorm in 2000, the Y2K threat for us was the snow! We ended up melting snow in the living room for days to have water for the dogs and horses

As a side note, I was laughing at some of the FB memes, one urging Carolinians to be careful with power outages, we don't need 88 baby showers in June/July of next year :D This really was a "thing" those Y2K storm babies really did happen, there's a bunch of September birthdays in this current group of high school seniors! :D

Keeping fingers crossed that you don’t get pummelled too much, that everyone (animal, mineral and vegetable) all stay safe and that any damage is minimal.
