Hi everyone, I've just found this site and thought it would be ideal to ask some questions about Springer Spaniels. I already have one English Springer Spaniel bitch called Sophie who is nearly a year and a half but she hasnt been spayed. I am a stay at home mum to a 19 mth old baby boy. I am wanting to get Sophie some company and am going to look at another Springer (bitch) tomorrow evening who is 2 yrs old.

Thing is, I am unsure about putting two bitches together and would love to hear from experienced owners. I absolutely adore Sophie and wouldnt want anything to upset her. I am bringing her with us tomorrow as well to see how they get on. Sophie is brilliant with our son.

    Can anyone advise me please?

I was thinking the same. I've heard that with two dogs of the same sex when they are on heat they can fight.

Hi and welcome to the forum, at two years old you should be able to find out what the temperament of the other dog is.
You can have problems with any mix of sexes it's the temperaments of both that will be the key

Definatley take sophie with you and if poss have a walk together that way you get a better idea of how they'd get on.
