    Hi everyone

Please bear with me for any blatant mistakes – this is all new to me.

I’ve recently become a new “mum” to George – an (almost) five-year old British Bulldog, have had him about a month now and we’re just getting used to him, as he is (shall we say) quite a character!

Any hints/tips gratefully received but I do have one particular question (which I’ll also post in the Health section); George is now absolutely covered in small insect bites – they’re not ticks or fleas and there’s nothing protruding from the bites, they’re just itchy – any advice?

I do know to keep him out of long grass but, to be honest, any grass is long when you’re only the height of a bulldog…

    Many thanks.

    Susan

    Hello and welcome,

You will get an answer to your question I am sure. They are very helpful on this forum. I have fallen totally in love with our 6 month old bulldog. They are a trully gorgeous breed and I want another! He has only had one bite and that was on his chin and I'm sure it was his own fault for chasing bees/insects.!!

Sorry I cannot help with your question, but someone with more experience of bull dogs will be along soon.

Wow – thanks, folks, for all the welcomes – much appreciated!

I posted my question about bites in the Health section too and one suggestion was to use a Piriton, which I hadn’t thought of but will definitely try if there’s no improvement.

George isn’t showing any signs of discomfort (although he does love me rubbing/gently scratching him where the bites are) but we have a vet’s appt on Sat & I’ll ask him to have a quick look, just to make sure I’m not mistaken about the flea/tick view.

    Many thanks again.

    Regards

PS. Love all the pics. Unfortunately, I don’t have a computer at home, so can only access the forum whilst at work – but I’m sure you’ll all take my word for it that George is gorgeous!
