    What a brilliant idea. The fur babies are obviously very happy with their new domain.

    Wow

    I love that, I’ve just sent those photos to my husband, my girls would love that.

    Your so clever coming up with that idea!

    That's awesome @Psygon - it makes me think of a vertical "Whack-A-Mole" game...not that I want to bash your beauties on the head with a mallet but just how they pop their heads out of the holes :)

    Totally can't take credit for it, as we saw the idea on a Facebook group! But since we already had one barrel we really wanted to make it. I've wanted a Hi-cat pole for ages, and this is a far, far cheaper option and looks almost as good!

    The freestanding ones on there were what I've wanted for ages... I think ours is a very good alternative!

    I think you cat post is better. I love my cats but I wouldn’t pay those prices on the hicat website. Cheeky buggers.

    @Psygon, what a brilliant idea!

    Like you I have wanted one of the Hicat ceiling high pole for ages, but they are so expensive! Your barrels are a great alternative.

    I just tried to register on the website you supplied the link to, but it seems I can't as they want my company name and COC number as essential info.

    hmm, to be honest we actually bought them on Amazon - I just thought I would link to the company website :) THey were on offer when we got the second one, so we got them a bit cheaper than this.

    The one I saw on Facebook was actually made from some barrrels bought from zooplus, but since we already had one of the RHR quality ones it made sense to make it from the one we had. I think the one we saw was made from Natural Paradise Barrels

    Ooohhhh..I have to do that. Thanks for posting!

    EDIT sadly there does not appear to be any thing comparable available in the US. Just those little two foot high things that are probably made from cardboard underneath the carpet. No great solid sisal covered things like those..

    @Psygon, thank you for the links. :) I actually have 3 of the Zooplus XL Diogenes barrels in the house, so I could even put two of those together! ;) All 3 barrels are usually permanently in use - the cats much prefer them to the cat tree.

    Wow that looks brilliant, and so fantastic to see their little heads popping out of the holes. Do they cope well with getting down from the top? On our garden pole Kalex does a lovely backwards shimmy down the pole until about 4 ft off the ground then turns and jumps.
