I am currently looking after two female rats, aged around 6 months. They belonged to a friend of mine who had some housing problems and basically can no longer look after them. However, I have no experience with such animals, have a cat who is determined to get into their cage and to be perfectly honest, I am very anxious of them. My friend has too much on her plate to try and rehome them so I said I would give it a go for her. These girls are sweet but have not been handled much, so I think they would need someone who has good experience and can socialise them. They play a lot with each other but are not keen to come out of the cage.
If anyone has any suggestions or could rehome them, please get in touch!
EDIT: forgot to say, I am in Essex/Greater London area

You could try a local or national rodent rescue, they will do home checks to ensure they go to a good home, from the sound of it they are quite nervy so may be best going to an owner with previous ratty experience. Good luck xx
