    I did, only noticed when I saw it up on a noticeboard at the family garden centre :D is this meant to be in general chat? ;)

    No I didn't until they told us on the news this morning - in among the football! They said that the bank of England had told us all. If they did they must have blooming whispered it!

    The new ones were issued as they have more security features on them making them harder to forge than the elgar notes, however I have still seen a fair few fakes of the new style but they are very easily detectable.

    Incas mum is right that this is just the last stages , from the 30th June you will not be able to use them is shops etc but you can go into your own bank and they will still take them in for you for a long time yet , in fact the banks still accept the notes we had before the elgar sets if you find any!

    Think I've got one or two of the old one's in my savings jar.

    What an excuse to dig them out and buy some new shoes lol :)
