Hi All,
I have noticed a strange activity demonstrated by my pet dog.He climbs on me when he sees me after a while.

Is this act because of separation anxiety or just because he is overjoyed?
I have captured the below video of his actions, please take a look and suggest:-

Regards,

I'm confused. Why is the pup tied up? I'm not sure what this video is supposed to be showing except a pup who is tied up and trying to get to his owner. Possible humping, but I can't quite tell.
The pup is very naughty, he will see me doing some important work and come and pull my headphones of PC and disturb me :)...He enjoys to irritate me and when I scold him then he runs away so I was doing some work that day so I decided to tie him so that he doesnt disturb me. But why does he hump looking at me , also his mouth is wide open ? Is there a message he wants to give?

Well firstly your pup does not know that you are doing important work and neither is he trying to irritate you. He just wants your attention. He's a pup and he wants to play. It's not a good idea to scold him for coming up to you wanting to play - this will do nothing to benefit your relationship and could damage it instead. If you need to not be disturbed then why don't you crate train him and give him something like a chew or filled Kong to keep him busy whilst you work?

The behaviour on the video to me just looks like he wants to be with you to play. I would not read anything further into it. If he humps then it is most likely from excitement of seeing you.

I had a sneaky feeling that was what the various threads were all about so I didn't bother to look at any of the videos.. clever ruse though, but it just felt a bit off to me

These videos seem to be made in a kennel with bars at one side , and how many people set them to music when seeking advice ? I've had my suspicions for a while.

No my friend, I added music to the video so that you can analyse the issue along with enjoying the music [for relaxation]. Adding video only will make things appear boring and you wont be able to analyse the situation in much better way... :)

Could I politely request that if you have further questions about your dog's welfare or behaviour you post videos direct to the forum without musical accompaniments? These would ease a lot of confusion.
